In 2010 CJH Yachts launched its first Gamefishing vessel….The CJH 26' Sportsfisher-
“Cairns based Boat Builders, CJH Yachts are very excited to announce the launching of the much anticipated CJH 26' Sportsfisher. After 3 years of some serious Research and Development Chris Headley (Director/Shipwright) has proudly launched this unique Sportsfisher.”
The whole idea behind this vessel was to find out what was missing in the Sportsfishing market and then carefully design and incorporate exactly what most keen and professional Sportsfisherman consider 'musts' on thier boat.

With the latest in technology, we have been able to fit Two x 180hp Yanmar , Shaft driven, Electronic Diesels.
Previously on a boat this size Engines with this power would have been too big and heavy to be even a consideration. The power, speed and response that these engines produce make this compact and efficient Sportsfisher one to be taken seriously and just for the record, she comes in at 7.9m just under the 8m for competition & tournaments.
- From a standing start to 32 knots in 12 seconds, she can really move.
- Fuel efficiency is a must in modern designs with fuel costs and environmentally considerations both being important factors.
- At 2400rpm we reach 17.3 knots using 25 litres per hour, that’s both engines!!!
- at 3200rpm we reach 24 knots using 41 litres per hour and
- at full speed and fully loaded with water, fuel and 4 passengers 4000 rpm we hit 32 knots whilst using 68 litres per hour.
- Predicted to hit 34 knots with a lighter load.

Being a twin inboard , shaft driven vessel we now add another factor. She is trailerable! With the advice and expertise of our Naval Architect, Peter Hogbin, Aurora Marine and Design, Coomera, we have built and designed a hull extremely strong to handle the loading and transportation on a trailer but light weight.
In 5 minutes you can drive this boat up onto your trailer as quick and as easily as any 'tinnie'. Once again keeping those long term running costs down, the 26' Sportsfisher is one you can keep out of the water saving you money on Mooring, Marina's and Maintenance.
Built in Survey is another huge benefit. Not only you know the build is of the highest standard but it also qualifies you to transport paying passengers. The interest from parties all over Australia and The Pacific have expressed many potential uses and scenario’s for this boat not only as a personal weekender or Small business opportunity for a keen sportsfisherman, but as tender to the larger boats.

You can comfortably sleep Two Adults in the V-berth with decent standing room (remembering both, Boat Builder and Architect are 6 foot+), Head/Shower and Galley. On a day trip you can comfortably have 5 big blokes fishing with plenty of room.
